Who is brave enough to take on one of the world’s largest multi-national corporations?
McLibel documents the story of two individuals who took on McDonald’s in what became the UK’s longest trial in legal history. Director Franny Armstrong documents the infamous case where McDonald’s brought two members of London Greenpeace to court with libel complaints after these members distributed leaflets that condemned the corporation’s products and business practices.
This film illustrates how difficult it was for the London Greenpeace members to seek justice through the European Court of Human Rights in the absence of the Human Rights Act.
